Emelin is a first-generation Cuban-American lawyer, who graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, a Minor in Sociology, a Certificate in Pre-Law Studies, and a Certificate in National Security. She graduated from St. Thomas College of Law with a Certificate in Litigation.
While in law school, Emelin was part of the Appellate Litigation Clinic, and she was also a Judicial Intern in the Third District Court of Appeal. As a first-generation college graduate in her family, Emelin is committed to using her legal skills to make a positive impact on her community.
